Course Induction course

Duration - 1 day

Hydroblasting Induction Course
This one-day course, designed specifically for the hydroblasting industry by the Australian High Pressure Water Jetting Association (Ausjet) is available for delivery by IFAP using Ausjet approved trainers.  The course aims to provide participants, especially new entrants within the industry, with the basic skills and knowledge to operate high pressure water blasting equipment in a safe manner.

 Expected Outcomes
• As a result of this course, participants should be able to:
• Outline and describe the requirements of legislation, specifically Duty of Care, in terms of safety and health;
• Outline the functions of, and differentiate between Safety and health Representative an Safety and Health Committees;
• Outline and describe accident reporting procedures;
• Outline and describe methods for preventing or managing hazards in the workplace;
• Outline and describe Safety Tag procedures;
• Describe the need for and use of personal protective equipment in the workplace;
• Outline and describe the effects of hydroblasting on the environment;
• Outline and describe symptoms of heat stress in the workplace and discuss suitable control measures;
• Outline and describe procedures for manual handling;
• State the requirements for safe chemical handling;
• Describe the use and meaning of safety and health signs;
• Outline and describe basic confined space procedures; and
• Outline and describe the operations of hydroblasting equipment.
